So, 23rd I got back from my summer camp. It was fun: hot, tiring, and a lot of being around other people, but fun. first day, got to the church, got my camp shirt, schedule, and told who my team and my host home was. then we went to the host homes, dropped off our stuff, most got changed into a swim suit and cloths that they wouldn't mind getting wet and nasty. then we went back to the church. everyone but the athletically challenged people, like me, played volleyball. then we had a kind of meet and greet and went over camp rules. after that, we had lunch and went back to the host homes for about an hour. Since my host home had a pool, me and two other girls hopped into the pool and chilled. we even made up a story. For those who want to, I'll write it down at the end, what I can remember. It will not be the same, but there you have it. Then, we went to the church, had dinner, service, and then played slip and slid baseball. It is a simple enough game, you have four big, slick, plastic tarps and cover them with baby oil and water. Add plastic kiddy pools at the ends and a slick home plate, and you've got the field for slip and slide baseball. Oh, and you had to be tied together with another person. I tried, but got out before reaching first base, plus I took my glasses off so I could barely see. We went back, then swam some more, talk stuff over, then took a shower and went to bed. Second day, got out of bed about 7:20 and got dressed in work clothes. by 8:00 ish we were back at the church and having breakfast. then we went to a girl from church's house and worked in the yard... and the sun... and the heat. But we survived! One of the guys cooked frozen hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill and we had that for lunch, then we worked some more. some where around 2 or 2:30 we went back to the church and had a meeting sort of thing. then we went back to the houses and chilled for a bit before taking showers and putting on make up(it was an all girl group, the guys all stayed at the church). after service, we went back to the houses and went to bed. 6:20 and I rolled out of bed. We went to the church and had breakfast then piled, literally, into two vans and a mini van. Before we got in, we took a group picture, then we drove down to the church sing, where we took another picture or two, then we shuffled the seats around a bit and set out for six flags. Two hours or so later, we were hiking to the ride known as acrophobia. Only a few didn't get on, I was one of those who chose to keep their feet firmly on the ground. Then our group rode the goliath, the "tree swing", and everyone in our group of five but the football player(big, tall, black guy.) went on the mind bender. CC didn't get on because of the loops, he was afraid of falling out. Then we had lunch. Monster mansion was up next, but we had lost(figuratively) a member of our group. two of us wanted to ride the daredevil dive, but the long line saved them from the horror. we also went on thunder river and two went on the ninja, All in all, a day of rides, and screaming. I also got an ice cream(YUM!) since one of the girls wanted to do something for my birthday before I left for my Aunt's house, which is where I am now. Then we went home.
Next up, a mini rant on car trips. i don't like to be in the middle when riding in a van. It's not fun. People singing on car trips... pray that they sing well, other wise you will hit the ground running when you get to your destination. Also, have a book, an ipod, or something to keep you occupied because when there are a lot of people and everyone is talking to somebody else, it gets loud. My rant is done.
Birthdays. I've had sixteen, but this one has been good. One of the few where I have been away from home for. It's kinda sad to not have mom and Noise telling me happy birthday to my face, but my phone has been buzzing most of the day as people wish me a happy birthday on face book, so it's good. I'll post the story later,
Lil Bit
I'M SCARED OF FALLING OUT ON LOOPS TOO! I DIDN'T KNOW ANYONE ELSE HAD THAT FEAR BESIDES ME! AND YOU RODE GOLIATH?! You have guts...did someone have to convince you to ride it or did you just want to ride it? And did you like it?
ReplyDeleteI kinda got pressured, but I liked it. Got off whooping with my fist in the air. My throught was sore from screaming the whole time though. ;)
