First, you know you're bored if...
1: you think about organizing.
2: you think about cleaning.
3: you daydream about school.
4: you hunt down your cat and force them to play with you.
5: you actually do laundry instead of just saying you need to.
6: you catch yourself staring at the wall.
Second, you know it's hot when...
1: your cat wants to get in the bathtub full of water.
2: you think about putting ice in your tub.
3: you can't move away from the fan.
4: the cicadas are singing so loud it's hard to sleep.
5: going to the beach is like walking into a grill.
6: ice cream is sold out in every store you go to.
Now that I've gotten those pointless thoughts out of my head, I've been cleaning and organizing and staring at walls but have stopped short of hunting down my cat and daydreaming about school. So, it is safe to say, I have been bored here at home. Sure every now and then I'll do the dishes or some such, but I'm still pretty much left on my own. I've cleaned up my desk and went crazy on my closet plus I re-organized my dresser(top). Still need to deal with the shoes and the other, various, little nick nacks all over my floor. It's just so hot out here, even with my fans going and the AC on. Crazy huh? Well, that's about all I wanted to say in my little shpeal. OH! and if you have an idea for a modern Christmas skit that is at most 30 mins. long, comment and give me your input. It would help a lot seeing as time is running out for me to write said skit for my church, seeing as we still need to cast a few people and set up rehearsals and such.
Later!

Hey Rae Annie!! It's great to hear from you! :D I LOVE your take on what'll happen if you're too bored or too hot! HAHAHA!! Yep, you would have to be pretty bored to actually think about school or cleaning! HAHA! I love the one about forcing the cat to play with you, bet she LOVED that, hahaha! Did you really go to lots of different ice cream stores and they were all sold out?! :O Wow, people must be pretty desperate! Personally I love the heat, I can't stand any temperatures below like 60, but everyone else feels the same way you do, I'm sure, haha! :) Well, it sure sounds like you're ready for school to start back! When's your first day? I'm due for re-indenturement on the 13th, so blahhhh :P This will also be the first year that I've had school on my birthday, I've NEVER gone to school on the 14th EVER in my LIFE! So that will be a big change. Luckily I won't be there for part of the day because of an orthodontist appointment! Braces, yayyyyyyy!!! :D Anyway, have you thought about just telling the classic Christmas story in a modern way? You know, Mary's a shy, perhaps geeky but sweet high schooler with a cell phone, laptop, wears jeans, etc, and Joseph's maybe in her grade or a few years older, and they're already set to be engaged (That can happen, even in high school) So they're dating, but soon Mary tells Joseph she's pregnant, and Joseph is shocked because they haven't even slept together. Then you could delve into all of his doubts, fears, etc, and Mary's nervousness and how scared she is of the torment she will get once everybody finds out she is expecting a baby. Then the government orders all U.S. citizens to go to their place of birth, but Mary doesn't have her license and Joseph doesn't have a car because his dad takes it to work all the time. So they have to either hitchhike or ride a horse there. Or perhaps they could carpool with someone. Anyway, by the time they arrive at their place of birth, Mary is nine months pregnant but all the hotel rooms are full and the cranky receptionists angrily tell them to come back later. But just then, a hillbilly farmer comes up to them and offers them a place to stay in his barn out in the country. So they go chugging down the road in his old 60's Ford, get to the farmhouse, and Mary ends up giving birth right there and Joseph places the baby in a feeding/water trough. They could name him Jesse or Joshua, or you could just say Jesus. Hmmm...anyway, at that exact same moment, angels appear to campers setting up their tents in the mountains nearby. They were about to go hiking and maybe take their bikes out on the wooded trail, but when the angels come, they immediately drop what they're doing and hurry over to the farmer's barn to see Baby Jesse/Joshua/Jesus. Meanwhile, three rich entrepreneurs also receive news of the baby's birth and set out to see him by following the star in the sky (Sorry, I can't think of a modern twist for a star) and they bring along with them wads of cash (instead of gold), a bottle of expensive cologne (instead of frankincense), and some fragrant herbs (instead of myrrh). BUT, the president has been hearing rumors that one day Baby Jesse/Joshua/Jesus will take over his position or become a better and more powerful president than he was, so he tries to have the baby killed. BUT Mary and Joseph flee with their tiny son, BUT, they still have to face everybody back at home, and...okay I'm kind of run dry hahaha :)
ReplyDeleteDUDE! THAT IS NOT A THIRTY MINUTE SKIT WITH CHILDREN AS THE ACTORS! It is a cool idea for a story though. *makes note to write it out* Anyhow, we only went to like two or three places on one day but the Dollar General behind our house was COMPLETELY out of ice cream and The Dog House up the street only had vanilla and strawberry. Pretty much a loss in the ice cream department that day. I start back on the 13th for Essay Writing and Chemistry is on Tuesday, but the other four classes I'm taking don't start until the 20th. Kinda crazy huh?
ReplyDeleteOkay, okay, calm down! Haha. When you asked for ideas/comments/input for your Christmas skit, I just thought I'd take you seriously :) It took me awhile to write it out and I was trying to help, so you're welcome :) And I know I've said this before, but you're SO lucky to live next to a Dollar General, although I guess not on days when it has no cool treats :) Haha wow, you're right, your school schedule is all over the place! At least ours is all at once! You'll have to juggle current classes and upcoming classes and all the confusion that comes with that! I'll be sure to pray and check up on you, because that definitely can't be easy! Talk to ya soon! <3
